SECRETS & EASTER EGGS

INTERACTIVE OBJECTS
Various Levels

During your adventure you will explore many different places across the country. Keep your eyes open, as there are many places where you can interact with objects resulting in small easter eggs for the player. When the interaction icon appears that means the object has some kind of animation for the player to discover, make sure you find all of them!

AMNESIA SONG
Various Levels

You can fly, you can hide! The hit song by Bryan Lee. You can hear different people singing this song during the game, it's kind of a recurring joke. You can first hear it on the radio during the rooftop escape from the FBI Headquarters, sung by Bryan Lee himself. You will hear this song again multiple times on various levels if you listen to the characters with a "La La La!" dialogue box.

RECYCLED ENEMIES
Brighton Beach

On the docks of Brighton Beach, you can find an enemy with the recycling symbol on his shirt, referencing the reuse of the same models for the enemies throughout the game. Ironically, this enemy model is unique.

BLAKE
EMERALD BASE & PLAIN ROCK ASYLUM

Blake is a character first mentioned during the level 'Emerald Military Base' by two soldiers having a conversation just after the player crosses the retractable bridge. Apparently, there's a rumour among the SPADS that Blake was institutionalized in Plain Rock for calling MacCall a "pinhead". The conversation between the two soldiers goes like this:

How long we stayin' in this dump? All this for that fossil, Carrington! And I know how he is -- he won't talk for hours. Why did that pinhead MacCall need to mobilize this many men in the first place?

Keep talking that way about MacCall, and you'll end up like Blake.

Enough already about Plain Rock Mental Institution. Blake just joined the Foreign Legion without telling anyone!
Damn straight! I'll be doing the same if MacCall keeps puttin' the deep freeze on our asses. I joined the SPADS to go to the islands, not this crap!

Gotta admit, it's cold as hell here.

Later on, inside the base you can once again overhear a conversation between two SPADS members:

Hey, why does MacCall always wear those shades anyway?

Some kind of accident, that's all I know.

I heard a SPADS called him a pinhead once, and...

Shut up! I can't get this thing to work... Aarrrr!

Is it true MacCall had him institutionalized at Plain Rock?

Shut up and let me think! This whole base is ass-backwards.

Sorry, just a little freaked out here...

Jake...

What?

Shut it.

Finally, when you arrive at Plain Rock Asylum you meet Blake, who is in the cell next to yours. He is talking to himself:

Now that I'm cured, Doctor, may I reintegrate my unit?

Hhhh... Ha! Ha! Ha!

Pinhead! Pinhead! MacCall is a pinhead! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Yes, sir, Colonel!

He then curls up and starts crying in a corner of his cell, shouting "Yes, sir, Colonel!" when Dr. Johansson comes to see you. The guards tell him to shut up and laugh at him. While you are escaping you can visit his cell again, but he won't say a word.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER
PLAIN ROCK ASYLUM

While you are riding the elevator to the top level of Plain Rock Asylum, you will hear a patient screaming:

I'm a software engineer!... Let me out!... Let me OUT! Don't you get it? If the patch isn't up by Tuesday, we'll never upgrade from 1.5.01 to 1.5.02! You hear? Never!

This might be a nod to the stress game developers suffer before releasing a game, working long hours to meet deadlines, known as 'crunch time'.
